CSIM is aware that tackling poverty is the long-term goal that requires a multi-pronged approach, CSIM also knows about the power of individuals to make a difference. CSIM doesn't disburse money, it shapes people. Through people CSIM promotes a more creative and lasting solution to global problems like poverty and inequality. CSIM tackles disadvantage by equipping people with the skills needed to transform local communities and national economies. 


CSIM supports and trains prospective social entrepreneurs and innovators in social change, to transform their visions into action.

CSIM INITIATIVES 










Grooming of Social Entrepreneurs 
(CSIM- Course details): CSIM's One-year Postgraduate Diploma in Social Initiative and Management is the first of its kind in India that helps Prospective Social Entrepreneurs to develop skills to be effective Social Entrepreneurs. It aims at teaching them how to apply successful business practices in a non-profit organisation while retaining its service mission. 


 
Capacity building of NGOs 
(CSIM-Workshops) CSIM conducts ongoing short-term training modules and workshops that enable and enhance professionalism within the development sector. 

Social Action Group Lectures 
(SAG) The Social Action Group is a network of socially conscious individuals, willing to make a difference to the society. Presently, it is a forum open to all and convenes once a month where professionals are invited to speak on a wide variety of socially relevant issues followed by an interactive discussion. 


Research and Development 
CSIM lays emphasis on research and documentation of successful, sustainable and innovative practices and models within the development sector. The centre has taken up research as part of its activities. Presently CSIM is conducting a "Feasibility Study for the Establishment of a Women's Fund in Chennai" with financial assistance from the US Embassy, New Delhi. The individuals associated with CSIM's Research and Development Unit have a wide array of expertise and experience in these areas and together hope to enable CSIM to emerge as a premier research institution. 






All Members of the faculty share a strong commitment to sharing their knowledge and to developing courses and programmes characterised by present trends, diversity and excellence.


CHILDLINE Nodal Organization
From July 2007, CSIM is the Nodal Organization of CHILDLINE India Foundation for Hyderabad city. Our primary role in CHILDLINE project is to ensure effective networking among the project implementing organizations and providing documentation and training support to the project staff.


CHILDLINE aims at protecting the rights of children and providing quality services to the disadvantaged children. It provides a national 24-hour free phone emergency service (1098) for children in need of care and protection and links them to long-term services. In Hyderabad city, CSIM is working with Divya Disha, SIDUR, COVA and other relevant agencies for achieving the project objectives.


In this new role, CSIM has access to the country-wide CHILDLINE network and other resources of the project on children issues. Given the importance of children issues in the social entrepreneurship field, we are trying to utilize the synergies between our activities.
