Post Graduate Diploma in Social Initiative and Management (PGDSIM) 

The Centre for Social Initiative and Management (CSIM), and Loyola Academy, Hyderabad jointly announce the launch of the 3rd batch of “ Post Graduate Diploma in Social Initiative and Management”. The new batch will be starting on 2nd August 2008.

  About the course 

The course is designed to cater to the changing and growing social sector needs. It aims to make social work practice innovative, effective and sustainable by application of social entrepreneurship and management concepts and tools.

 The course is appropriate for persons who are seeking career prospects in NGOs and the staff of social sector organizations, development projects and CSR wings of corporates who want to upgrade their knowledge and skills.  

This is a one-year (two semesters), part time course conducted at CSIM premises at Punjagutta, Hyderabad. The sessions will be conducted during the weekends (Saturdays and Sundays). The teaching methodology includes lectures, seminars, workshops, field-based projects, assignments and small group discussions.

  The main subjects covered during the course are: 

Social dimensions of development issues, Contemporary fields in social work, Social Entrepreneurship, Law, Social Research, Project Management, Communications, Fund raising, Governance and Accountability, HRM, Finance Management for NGOs, Micro-finance and CSR.

 The project work will deal with education, health, environment, livelihoods, slum development and rural development.

 CSIM announces 12th batch of NGO Management & Social Entrepreneurship

Center for Social Initiative and Management (CSIM), Hyderabad (supported by Dr.Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd) is a learning Center that enrolls, discovers and shapes social entrepreneurs, supports the process of social entrepreneurship in NGOs and academic institutions and encourages volunteers to understand and adopt the principles of social entrepreneurship.

NGO Management & Social Entrepreneurship course draws on the concept of social entrepreneurship and introduces management skills such as strategic planning, innovation and effective resource management. The course is offered to board members of NGOs, social workers, volunteers and professionals from corporate as well as development sectors.
