Social Entrepreneurship is one of the most hopeful and helpful trends around. These folks aren't famous, but they are showing that what it really takes to change the world isn't so much wealth or power as creativity, determination and passion.

Who is a Social Entrepreneur?

Social Entrepreneurs are individuals whose creativity and determination open up new avenues of possibility within the social sector and a vision of starting a non-profit organization that is dedicated to changing the world. As business entrepreneurs lead innovation in commerce, social entrepreneurs drive social change. A social entrepreneur is an innovator, self-directed, works well with people and has a passion for working to improve the lives of individuals who are struggling to meet their basic human needs.

What's 'different' about CSIM?

What sets CSIM apart from other social work training institutes is its focus on entrepreneurship - educating students on the use of the most effective practices from the for-profit and nonprofit worlds. Students receive professional guidance in strategic planning, marketing, fundraising, board development, budgets, technology, evaluation and other components key to running successful projects.

CSIM's courses are the first of its kind in India. The courses will help students develop their skills to become an effective social entrepreneur by learning (in addition to conventional social work training) how to apply successful business practices in a non-profit organization while retaining its service mission.
